On October 1, 2023, Laurens County School District 55 was awarded a three-year grant from the federal Teacher and School Leader (TSL) Incentive Program. Funded by the U.S. Department of Education, the grant provides resources to strengthen systems of support for classroom teaching, build instructional leadership capacity for school leaders, and raise student achievement.   

Through this project, titled Laurens Educators Achieving Results to Net Success (LEARNS), our district will expand its partnership with the National Institute for Excellence in Teaching (NIET), a national nonprofit organization committed to raising achievement levels for all students. Specifically, NIET will help Laurens County School District 55 to implement the TAP System (The System for Teacher and Student Advancement).
