What is RtI?

Response to Intervention (RtI) is a general education framework that provides structure for schools to provide all students with research-based, differentiated, high quality multi-tiered systems of support and instruction. The process identifies students with academic or behavioral needs and thus provides specific, targeted interventions to match the needs.

The L55 RtI Reference Guide is a step-by-step guide for completing each phase of the RtI process in the Frontline Education/Enrich System.

Interventions are categorized below by the tier of intervention intensity and reading area of concern.  All interventions are also available through the RtI Program in the Frontline Education/Enrich system.

If you have additional research-based interventions you would like the RtI Team to consider adding, please submit information using the Intervention Recommendation form.

Coordinator Documents

RtI Meeting Minutes to document Tier 2 & 3 meeting discussions.

RtI Document Procedures for sending documents to Teaching & Learning.

Drop Everything and Read (D.E.A.R.)

D.E.A.R. stands for "Drop Everything and Read," a national celebration of reading designed to remind families to make reading a priority activity in their lives.

See photos from the event.

National D.E.A.R. Day is designed to remind people of all ages to make reading a priority activity in their lives.  D.E.A.R. programs are held nationwide on April 12 in honor of Beverly Cleary’s birthday. Beverly Atlee Cleary was an American writer of children’s and young adult fiction. One of America’s most successful authors,  91 million copies of Cleary's books have been sold worldwide since the first one was published in 1950. Becoming an enthusiastic reader is essential to being a lifelong learner.

On D.E.A.R. Day, LCSD 55 schools put aside all distractions and enjoyed books together for 10 minutes.
